A Rory fan and member here sent me this message below about the 2 Taste Live albums released without Rory's consent by Eddie Kennedy (Taste Manager) Fans message..."Dennis McNamara, WLIR Radio in NY did an interview with Rory on 11 Sep 1977. Rory said in response to a question about the two live Taste albums released after the breakup and without his permission that he had tapes of all of Taste’s live performances that were better than the albums that were released. Do those tapes still exist? Is there any chance that they may one day be released?" This was the reply I gave saying that Donal and Daniel Gallagher would have those tapes Rory mentioned there in 1977 in their possession for sure now.. The 2 Taste Live albums you're referring to I think are Taste Live (Montreux) & Taste Live @ The Isle Of Wight ? Well the later Taste Live @ the Isle of Wight has been remastered remixed by Daniel Gallagher and released with full 10 tracks in 2015 called "What's Going On TASTE Live At The Isle Of Wight" Also Daniel with Donal Gallagher released a Taste " I'll Remember " 4 CD box set in 2015 www.discogs.com/Taste-Ill-Remember/release/7402684With many live recording included in this Taste 4 CD box set which probably were some of those Taste recordings Rory referred to in that interview in 1977. PS That is why I included " What's Going On TASTE Live At The Isle Of Wight " full version CD with encores in that poll on other thread. As it is an official RG album now with the Gallagher's consent

Was there no release of early Taste, the first incarnation of Taste when he formed the band in Cork before Eddie Kennedy convinced him to change out the bass player and drummer? That one was definitely released without Rory's consent. I thought all the Kennedy era Taste recordings were in Rory's family's possession?

Daniel has confirmed to me today who has the recording rights to these 2 Taste Live albums..
DG...Hi JJ, the albums are technically owned by Polydor who had Taste's contract when the recordings were made. I managed to get the IOW audio released with Eagle Rock as they are now owned by Universal who also own Polydor. At the moment there's no plans with the Montreux recordings. D

Surprised that the Marquee London recordings have not been cleaned up and remastered, he played there several times.. Having attended the Lyceum shows which were always special I am surprised that nothing has come out, not sure there are any recordings Anyway any Rory recordings are worth it for me But I especially love the Taste material IOW remains my favourite , and on the boards my album , but then again just my opinion
